End of School, San Carlos, Father's Day, you know... JUNE!

Maxx's class studied "The Living Seas" aka anything and everything to do with the ocean.  They had a family night where they presented their reports.  Maxx's report was on the Sea Turtle.

(Of course I forgot my camera.)

Sofia's preschool presented the play "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". Sofia had the lead role and was super excited until they started.  She sucked her thumb through most of it.  Towards the end she became a bit more lively, but still suffered a bit from stage fright.  Who knew she had a shy bone in her body??  The little girl who talks to everyone and I mean everyone (most of the time giving them hugs and inviting herself to their house) would be afraid to perform in front of adults she knew and loved.  I filmed it, but because of downloading issues, it is not ready yet to be viewed by a large audience.

We went to San Carlos, Mexico for Memorial Day weekend.  We stayed in a condo on the beach.  The first morning there were shells everywhere and seaweed.  We all had a wonderful time swimming in the ocean.

The view from our condo.

Sofia and Maxx in the community pool. My camera never did make it to the beach with us.

Father's Day!  Juan had been gone for almost 3 weeks and arrived home just before midnight Saturday night.  It made for an even better Father's Day, since we had missed him so much.  The kids had made cards and pictures for him and enjoyed watching him open them.

Sofia Turns 4!!!

Today is Sofia's 4th birthday! Doesn't she just look 4 now?  She informed me that now that she is 4, she can jump higher on the trampoline.  I just hope she still feels that 4 is too old to suck your thumb. :)

(I'm actually posting on the actual day.  Must be a good day for a b-day)

She was so excited to see this...

Way more excited that these guys were to wake up extra early on a Sunday.

(8:30 am church makes for a rushed birthday morning.)

I won't bore you with all the present opening pictures.  She was very excited for everything.  It's not every day you turn 4.

She loves her new tent.  She can't wait to sleep in it tonight.

She can already zoom around on her bike ringing the bell the whole time.  I'm sure the neighbors are extra excited about that.

Luckily for mom, 4 year olds aren't cake critics.  She wanted it purple and I forgot to get some purple food coloring.  Red + Blue = Purple right???

We haven't sung to her yet.  We have to eat her requested  birthday meal:  corn on the cob, applesauce, water, and ham.  It was requested in that order.

Happy Birthday, Sofia!  We love you and are soooo happy you came to join our family 4 years ago today.
